Recapturing the Fun.
Hey, writing should be fun! We get so stressed about performing and producing a masterpiece that we lose the joy of creating. The point of writing is to express yourself, to become lost in the moment, to tap your innate talents. If you're going through a dry spell, here's an idea on how to become a happier writer:
Cut free from expectations.
Expectations can strangle you when you're into "perfection mode" until you can't breathe creatively. Who is telling you this piece of writing must be an award-winning, lauded, published project? Who is telling you that you must publish a novel before you turn fifty, or you must find a fan base, or . . . ? Chances are, you're telling yourself this stuff, and it's freezing you up. Stop it.
